Tips for a great submission

Photograph both the front and back of the original — writing, stamps, and studio marks on the back are often the best clues.
Scan or photograph in good, even light. Avoid shadows across the subject's face.
Note exactly where and when you found the photograph — this is more useful than you might think.
Include any text on the photo or its envelope, exactly as written, even if partial.
